Group Shuttlers Shine at the 7th MBA Inter-Firm Team Doubles Badminton Championships 2017

The 7^th  MBA Inter-Firm Team Doubles Badminton Championships 2017, organized by the Mercantile Badminton Association of Sri Lanka was held from the 19^th to the 25^th of June. Each team match consisted of 5 matches including 2 Men’s Doubles, Women’s Double, Men’s Veterans Double and a Mixed Double.

John Keells Group “A” made its way to the Semi-finals in the “Cup” category after beating NDB Bank “A” (3 – 1). The team also showcased a strong performance at the Semi-finals with NTB “A” (2 – 3) and it was a very competitive game. Nevertheless, the player base of John Keells Group “A” managed to secure 3rd place in the “Cup” category at the 7th MBA Inter-Firm Team Doubles Badminton Championships 2017.

This year a total of 55 teams representing 37 companies battled it out on the courts with more than 500 shuttlers taking part in the tournament.
